About GridIQ

Built for the realities of Africa’s power systems.

GridIQ sits at the intersection of operational data, policy and capital. Our work connects the people keeping the lights on with those making long-term market and investment decisions.

Our story

Why GridIQ exists.

Africa’s power systems face growing demand, aging infrastructure and shifting regulatory frameworks. Decisions about investment, reform and daily operations are often made with incomplete or fragmented information.

GridIQ was created to close this gap. By combining feeder-level analytics, regulatory and market insight, and leadership-grade narratives, we enable a more transparent, predictable and investable electricity ecosystem.

Feeder-first Our analytics and narratives start from the smallest unit of reliability and revenue: the feeder.
Neutral We are independent of any single utility, vendor or political bloc. Our role is to clarify, not to lobby.
Pan-African We work across multiple markets, recognising both shared challenges and local specificities.
Evidence-driven We prioritise verifiable data, transparent methods and clear communication over hype.
How we work

From the control room to the boardroom.

Our engagements bridge technical and strategic domains, helping different stakeholders see the same reality from their own angle.

With operators We work with operations, planning and network teams to understand data flows, system constraints and the realities of keeping the grid stable.
With regulators We support evidence-based regulation, helping frame KPIs, tariffs and market rules around measurable outcomes.
With investors We provide market and regulatory insight that sharpens risk assessments and investment theses.
With partners Engineering partners like Hermes Engineering support physical deployment, asset management and on-the-ground execution.
